Altamira culminó exitosamente el proceso de asambleas consultivas a la ciudadanía en lo que respecta a la elaboración del Presupuesto Participativo Municipal para el año 2008. En esta ocasión se realizaron 35 asambleas para recoger el sentir de los habitantes del municipio en cuanto a las necesidades prioritarias de cada zona.
Hay que resaltar la integración del equipo coordinador del PPM y la voluntad de participación que mostraron las personas que viven en este municipio ya que, muchas de las asambleas se realizaron bajo fuertes aguaceros cosa que no impidió su presencia en la realización de las mismas.
El proceso se inició el 4 de octubre y culminó el 21 de noviembre con la participación de 2,637 personas, es decir, 1,739 personas más que el año anterior donde solo participaron 898. Este aumento en la participación se debe a que las obras que se presupuestaron para este año fueron cumplidas en su mayoría y las que faltan están en proceso de terminación.
En las asambleas consultivas participaron 1,340 hombres y 1,297 mujeres lo que equivale a un 50.8% y 49.2% respectivamente.Las necesidades más solicitadas por la población fueron: arreglo de caminos vecinales, suministro de agua potable, ayuda a las iglesias y electrificación entre otras.
En los próximos días se procederá a realizar la asamblea de negociación con los delegados/as de las comunidades y el síndico municipal para definir cuales son las obras que el ayuntamiento puede asumir en el presupuesto del 2008.
